Caravan Curtains

Test In these post-recessionary times staycations are still big business and a great way to spend a weekend or week’s holiday is via an old-fashioned caravan or campervan trip. Of course, what makes this type of holiday a whole lot better is if your caravan is fit for purpose in the first place. What we mean by this is that it’s comfortable and attractive to be in – after all, let’s face it, there’s going to be days in the UK when it’s raining and you’re going to be stuck indoors for hours!

Give Your Caravan Curtains a Make-Over

If you’re lucky enough to already have a caravan but are a bit fed up looking at the same old interior then you can always refresh and brighten it up – at little expense, by re-covering the seating areas. At Curtains Made Simple we have a wide range of designer fabric choices suitable for caravan interiors in the form of made to measure caravan curtains or Roman blinds, bespoke cushions, fabric upholstery, bed spreads or table covers.

Easy Wipe Clean Fabrics

Understandably so, holidays tend to be a time when the family consumes lots of ice creams, fizzy drinks and greasy fish and chip suppers so, if you are considering replacing the upholstery in your caravan, then it’s a good idea to think about buying a fabric that’s easy to clean and has a colourful pattern that won’t show stains. Some fabrics even come with a special coating to ensure they’re easy to wipe down.

Why not really go to town and co-ordinate your fabrics? Matching curtains and cushions can really give a smart and homely feel to a caravan while a velvet bedspread and matching curtains in the bedroom can definitely lead to a luxurious feel.

Personally, for a light summer holiday feel for a caravan kitchen window we love the High Tea collection from Prestigious Fabrics. These fun fabrics consist of haphazardly balanced cups and saucers, a myriad of pots and pans and rather yummy cakes:

For a fun and plush bedroom caravan look why not opt for something like Fibre Naturelle’s Tango Dragonfly fabric? This would also make a great cushion fabric.

For those who plan to do a spot of entertaining in their caravan there’s nothing nicer than having a rather splendid tablecloth. Enter Clarke & Clarke with the Rosetta fabric collection.

This fabric can also be made into cushions, of course, or even matching tea towels and napkins if you really want to push the boat out.

Other designer ranges available at Curtains Made Simple include Welsh design house Elanbach, vintage favourite Cath Kidston and ticking king Ian Mankin. Re-upholstering your caravan is a lot less expensive than your home yet for at least a month and the odd weekend every year, your caravan is your home. So isn’t it worth a little interior TLC?"
